Right, so everyone is kicking off because the US Government are trying to close down websites hosting and allowing the download of copyrighted material.
People are saying what gives them the right to do so?
Well, let us think. Whether it’s games, music, films or books, someone has put their time and effort into creating it. And it’s directly eating into their profit every time someone downloads illegally rather than purchases that item.
Is it really such a bad thing if the websites allowing this are shut down? (By this I’m referring to sites with torrents/dlc etc, rather than sites such as Facebook/twitter/youtube just linking to them)
I know copyright is sometimes taken too far (e.g. background music in a video of friends), but seriously.
Shut the fuck up. You’re all unhappy because you aren’t going to be allowed to STEAL other people’s work any more. This is not a bad thing. If you want it, pay for it. Don’t get pissy if this means you can’t get something for free anymore.
